Sheer Bundles of Energy
By: Ruel Hinaloc, Tue Sep 18th, 2007
Remarkable speeds of 53 miles per hour (85 km/h) in normal flight, with peaks of over 71 miles per hour (114 km/h), have been measured. Migratory species are even more surprising, for they cover tremendous distances. Of the three North American hummingbirds, ruby-throat and rufous migrate some 2,000 miles (3,200 km) to their winter quarters. The broadtailed hummingbird flies from southern Mexico to the Rockies of Colorado and Wyoming, a distance of 1,500 to 2,000 miles (2,400 to 3,200 km). Now, think of its mere three inches (7.5 cm) and you have reason to wonder how such a small creature can do it.

By: Rick Chapo, Mon Jan 29th, 2007
There is little debate that we need to wean ourselves off of fossil fuels, but the costs of renewable energy platforms such as solar make it difficult. Nanotechnology definitely offers the answer.

Solar power is a renewable energy source that is extremely popular, but has a cost problem. Net metering is a concept the government is currently using to offset this problem.

When You Should Choose Wind Turbines Over Solar Panels
By: James Bratley, Tue Mar 6th, 2007
Many people today are unaware of why and when you should use renewable energy sources in today's world. The main reason for using natural energy is mainly down to the environment, and if you care to improve the quality of it. But with many viable energy sources out there, which one you choose can be a nightmare to decide upon.

Rudolph Diesel sure had the concept when he created the first Diesel engine. He was a genious of the time.He used "peanut oil" as fuel for his engines,so why didn't "WE" continue with his great ideas for fuel?

When people think of wind power as a renewable energy, they tend to envision images of a couple of wind turbines twirling in the wind. The Tehachapi Wind Farm is an example of wind power on a large scale.

Going Green Bit by Bit
By: Stephanie Foster, Tue Jan 30th, 2007
Living a greener lifestyle feels complicated. But you can start with the easy steps and make a real difference, even if it's a small one at first. Let's start with your light fixtures. As your light bulbs die, replace them with compact fluorescent light bulbs. These cost more at the store but use less energy and last up to 10 times longer, so they can be well worth the money. These are much better than the old fluorescent bulbs which had an awkward greenish cast and slight flicker at times.
