By: Graham Hall, Tue May 29th, 2007
With almost daily reminders of the effects global warming is having on the earth it seems we are living a doomsday scenario and that our quality of life will diminish, either due to the effects of climate change or the measures put in place to combat it.
The Solar Revolution is Finally Here
By: Peter Johnson, Tue May 29th, 2007
The amount of solar energy intercepted by the Earth every minute is greater than the amount of energy the world uses in fossil fuels each year. Currently, solar power provides less than 1% of US energy production, and a tidal wave of change has begun–this may be the first you’ve heard of it. Switching to solar now not only makes environmental sense, but there is also a large financial incentive for homeowners.

Solar power is generated when energy is extracted from the suns rays through the use of photovoltaic cells (commonly referred to as solar cells). These cells convert photos (from the suns rays) into electricity, and this process is known as the “photovoltaic effect.”

Biodiesel making is HOT right now…
That’s the secret to making your own electricity. You don’t want to slap a noisy generator in your back yard and run it 24 hours a day. That will not work in a million years! Your new book will show you how to select the proper generator, how to keep it quiet, and most importantly… how to get power 24 hours a day while running your generator only 1-2 hours a day.
How to help reduce Global Warming by using Biodiesel
By: Mervyn Rees, Tue Jan 16th, 2007
Views from around the World on Global Warming: The Kyoto Protocol goes by a number of aliases: The Kyoto Treaty, The Kyoto Accord, or Kyoto Protocol to the United Nations Framework Convention on Climate Change. It does not stand alone but is actually an amendment to a larger body of work by the United Nations on climate change. The larger body of work is a treaty on managing environmental change by reducing emissions of greenhouse gases. It came into being in 1992 at a summit in Rio de Janeiro, but since it is a treaty and does not hold countries accountable to make any changes, an amendment was added to it, called a protocol, to help nations take action in response to the treaty. The goal is to stabilize the amount and concentration of greenhouse gases in the atmosphere.

By: James Allen, Mon Apr 2nd, 2007
The light bulb Thomas Edison invented and made famous may be on its way out in the coming years, at least in the Golden State. California State Assemblyman Lloyd Levine recently introduced legislation that would ban the sale of incandescent light bulbs by 2012. This legislation, titled the “How Many Legislators Does it take to Change a Light Bulb Act,” (say that 5 times fast) touts the benefits of energy-saving light bulbs, such as the increasingly popular compact fluorescent bulb or CFL, and the up-and-coming LED bulb.
Fundamental Ways that could Stop Global Warming
By: Jean Simmer, Mon Apr 2nd, 2007
What do you think could come in as more important to our basic human needs such as food, shelter, medicine, education or even the need for affection? There could be one issue that would predetermine everything that will transpire on the planet, and that is the planet’s condition. If the world were on the brink of destruction, saving it would be the priority of every single individual. And save it we must. Although the threat is still not at a life and death level, there is an alarming truth that there are several problems that are now bugging the place that we live in. Say hello to global warming. And try to say bye - stop global warming!
How to Stop Deforestation?
By: Jean Simmer, Mon Apr 2nd, 2007
Deforestation has rapidly destroyed much of the planet’s forests for years. One major challenge for governments and environmentalists alike would be how to stop deforestation so current environmental conditions would not come to worse. In the past centuries, people have been naturally cutting down trees and burning down forests. Take note that hundreds of years ago, most of the earth’s land surface had been covered by forests. So to be able to construct residential areas and establish villages, people had to destroy some forests. As population grew through the years, there are much development that needs to be achieved.

Is A Wind Turbine Right For You?
By: James Bratley, Tue Mar 6th, 2007
You may have seen the many different small home wind turbines you are able to purchase in the shops, yet you may be undecided whether one of these small scale wind turbines is for you. Before purchasing a turbine, you should do some research regarding; can your environment make a turbine efficient enough, what alternative energy sources can you harness, and which technology is the best value for money.
